My budget says zero, but I walked yesterday.

Tollgait counts only steps your device recorded itself. Steps typed into the Health app by hand are ignored on purpose, since the whole idea rests on the number being earned. Check that Health permission is granted under Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Tollgait.

My apps aren't being blocked.

Tollgait needs Screen Time permission to gate anything. Open Settings → Screen Time and confirm it's on, then reopen Tollgait. If you've never picked apps to gate, nothing will be blocked yet — choose them in the app.

The gate stayed shut even though I had minutes left.

Tollgait fails closed: when something is unclear, it keeps the gate shut rather than opening it by mistake. Opening the app resolves it. If it happens repeatedly, email us.

Why 4 AM?

Someone scrolling at 1 AM is, psychologically, still in the previous day. A 4 AM rollover bills late-night use to the day it belongs to. You can change the hour in Settings, and the change takes effect at the next rollover.

Why won't a setting change take effect right away?

Anything that makes the gate easier waits until the next rollover. Anything that makes it stricter applies immediately. That asymmetry is the point: it stops you loosening your own rules at the exact moment you're least able to judge.

What is the emergency pass?

A few times a day you can open the gate for a few minutes, even with no budget left. It's counted and it runs out, so it can't quietly become the way you use the app.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are handled by Apple, not by us. On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, choose Tollgait, then Cancel. Cancelling leaves the free app fully working — gating, budgets, the exchange rate, the rollover hour and the emergency pass are all free, permanently.

How do I delete my data?

Delete the app. Everything Tollgait stores lives on your device, so removing the app removes all of it. There is no server holding a copy.
